Friends, welcome to Five with Fry, where five is the magic number, whether it's five minutes, five questions or anything that fits in five. I dive into the big topics that matter, sometimes alone and other times with a friend. From navigating sports conflict to family dynamics, travel, tech, hard-hitting issues and even politics Nothing and I mean nothing's off the table. This is where curiosity meets conversation, and we always sit at an intersection. I'm your host, dr Jen Fry of Jen Fry Talks. Let's get into it, friends. Welcome to the newest episode of Five with Fry, and we're going to talk about something that we haven't chatted about yet, which is one of my favorite things in the world travel. If y'all know me, you know I love to travel Love, love, love. And I don't only love traveling domestically, I especially love traveling internationally, and so this podcast are going to be my five favorite places to travel around the world. So people usually ask, like, where should I go? Where are my favorite places? I'm going to give you my five. So the very first one that I love to go to I've been there a few times is Havana, cuba, not only because it was in the movie Bad Boys, which, if you know me, is one of my favorite movies ever, but I just love Havana. It is gorgeous, the food is amazing, I feel very safe walking around. There is just this extra level of culture that you read about because of the embargo, but then when you're seeing you're like, oh my gosh, this is actually Cuba. It has been some of the best times that I have had in traveling. I went there by myself, I went there with one of my good friends and just had a blast. I would always recommend going there Whenever you go. You can go, like across the water for like a 10 cent ferry ride and go ride the Hershey's original train and when I say original, baby, I mean original and I rode it all the way to the end, which is like three hours each way and, by the way, there's no bathroom on it. So do with that whatever you must, but it was such a great experience.
Dr. Jen Fry:The second place which I absolutely love is Bali. I go there because my sister has a hotel and Bali is phenomenal which is in Indonesia. If you didn't know and I didn't know how much I would love it, not only because to just eat there, stay there, it's really cheap. I just love every aspect of it the culture, the people. The massages are cheap. It is just a great. The massages are cheap. It is just a great warm experience Not hot but warm and so it is absolutely one of the favorite places A lot of people are like but it costs so much to go there or it takes so long to go there. Yes, it does, and when you get there it's really cheap, as opposed to going to England where, yeah, it might be cheaper to go there but it's two and a half times or when they have times because of the pounds, because the euro, whatever it is, you get your money's worth and your dollar goes so far over there in Bali.
Dr. Jen Fry:The second place I absolutely love is Phuket, thailand. Now where I said Bali was warm, phuket was hot. I mean hot like with a capital H in bold. The sand in Phuket near the water was boiling. I mean I don't know if I've had sand that hot before. It was absolutely boiling my feet and just the sun was glaring on you, but it was again great weather, if you like the heat. The water was blue and just so nice to go into. The food was phenomenal, especially in Phuket, the night market oh so amazing, such great food, and it's just a great calming place to go and get massages and hanging out. I absolutely loved Phuket and felt completely safe.
Dr. Jen Fry:The next place is Mexico City. I have heard from a lot of people how much they loved Mexico City, but I was like, yeah, yeah, okay, sure, maybe. When I went to Mexico City, I was like, yeah, I need to buy a house here or something. It was super walkable. It has like many of the top 50 bars and restaurants in the world there. It just is such a wonderful and comforting place like. Mexico City is absolutely phenomenal in all the ways.
Dr. Jen Fry:You know, my best friend and I went and we walked around. We walked miles. And let me tell you one thing about my best friend, sarah. I am a walker, but Sarah is a walker in size, 24 font. The amount of times I was begging her I mean begging and pleading with her to let us take an Uber or a taxi, and she was like, absolutely not. I think the only Uber we took was from the airport. Other than that, we walked miles. She did not care about anything. When I tell you, we walked miles in that place. We then put our feet all over Mexico city and it was wonderful, but I am kind of the person that's like, yeah, it's close by, but in reality it's far. Sarah doesn't even lie. She will be like, yeah, it's far and we're still walking so stretch out. So we got such a nice glimpse of all the different areas of Mexico City. Also, we went to like the hot springs and the mountains, about a three-hour drive away, but it was so worth it. Oh my gosh, it was such a gorgeous view, gorgeous water. I absolutely recommend Mexico City.
Dr. Jen Fry:The last person to round out, or the last country to round out, is Morocco. Marrakesh was amazing. It is like what it shows in the movies when you're there. I absolutely loved Marrakesh. I had, I think, two jackets and a leather skirt made for like 150 bucks. And the skirts let me tell you, that skirt is phenomenal on your girl and I got to pick out the color and everything.
Dr. Jen Fry:Marrakesh was simply amazing and I would go back there in a heartbeat. The food, the culture. I wanted to sign up for one of those camel rides and hot air balloons but they canceled on me. So I'm kind of annoyed. So I feel like I have to go back just to get the whole experience out of it. But Marrakesh, morocco, absolutely go.
Dr. Jen Fry:So my top five countries that I love and you should go are Colombia, bali, indonesia, thailand, mexico City and Morocco. Go to all of them. Go to any of them, hit me up and please tell me what your thoughts are, because I'd love to hear it.
